Syria and Jordan on Thursday condemned an Iranian ballistic missile launch against Türkiye and a drone attack targeting an airport in Azerbaijan, calling them as "a blatant violation of the sovereignty" of the two countries.

"Syria affirms its full rejection of all forms of violence and escalation that target civilians and infrastructure, and calls for adherence to international laws and the principles of good neighborliness," according to the Foreign Ministry, which said the attacks pose "a threat to regional and international security and stability."

It expressed Damascus' "full solidarity" with Ankara and Baku, urging the international community to assume responsibilities and protect regional security and peace.

Jordan's Foreign Ministry also expressed Amman's "rejection" of the attacks, describing them as "a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region."

Jordan supports Ankara and Baku "in any steps they take to protect their sovereignty, security, and the safety of their citizens," it added.

The Turkish National Defense Ministry said Wednesday that a ballistic munition fired from Iran and directed toward Turkish airspace was intercepted and neutralized by NATO air and missile defense units in the Eastern Mediterranean.

And on Thursday, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said the Nakhchivan exclave was hit by drones launched from Iranian territory, with one striking the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, while another fell near a school building in the village of Shakarabad.

The attacks came as Israel and the US continue a large-scale offensive on Iran that began Saturday, killing at least 926 victims, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf countries, which are home to US military assets.
