JERUSALEM
Sirens sounded Monday evening in the city of Dimona and surrounding areas in Israel’s Negev desert following a rocket barrage launched from Iran, the Israeli army said.
In a statement, the army said it had detected missiles launched from Iran, adding that air defense systems are working to intercept them.
It said sirens were activated in Dimona and nearby areas, including the Yeruham settlement, following what it described as a “limited barrage.”
Israel’s Channel 12 later reported that air defenses intercepted one missile in the area, with no injuries reported.
Separately, the army said it detected a second rocket barrage headed toward Eilat, as sirens sounded in the southern city, the Shahorit industrial zone, and the Eilot settlement.
No further details were immediately available on damage or casualties.
