Several Egyptian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing on Sunday morning carrying essential relief items, including food and infrastructure supplies, according to Egyptian media.

The Al Qahera News video footage broadcast showed several trucks loaded with tons of goods moving from the Egyptian side into Gaza.

Meanwhile, the media outlet Al-Ahram Gate reported that the convoy is part of Egypt’s continued support for the Palestinian people.

The supplies carried by Egyptian and Emirati trucks include foodstuffs and materials aimed at rehabilitating damaged infrastructure, according to reports.

There was no immediate statement from the Egyptian Red Crescent or the relevant authorities on the total number of trucks or the schedule for further deliveries.

The aid delivery comes amid growing international pressure to allow unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, where UN agencies have warned of imminent famine and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure due to ongoing Israeli military operations.

Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing over 59,700 Palestinians, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
