Dozens of Palestinians on Friday were injured in clashes with the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Palestinian medics told Anadolu Agency that they had treated “dozens” of Palestinians who had suffered from excessive teargas inhalation during the clashes.
According to local eyewitnesses, clashes erupted near the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, where Israeli troops used teargas, rubber bullets and live ammunition to disperse the crowds.
Palestinian youths responded by throwing stones and setting car tires alight.
Following Friday prayers, anti-occupation rallies were held in cities and towns across the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Palestinian political factions are calling for mass demonstrations to protest a backchannel U.S. Middle East peace plan known as the “Deal of the Century”.
