Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday that it engaged three Iranian cruise missiles and 15 drones in the last 24 hours, as air defenses responded to aerial threats.
A statement by the army said Iranian “aggression” caused damage to a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, which was brought under control by specialized emergency teams.
Debris also fell on a residential home in one of the housing areas, but no casualties were reported.
An explosives disposal unit from the army’s ground forces, in coordination with the Interior Ministry, handled a military object at the site and safely neutralized it.
The ministry added that since the beginning of Iranian “aggression,” air defenses engaged a total of 312 ballistic missiles, five cruise missiles and 651 drones.
The US and Israel have struck Iran since Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with strikes across the region, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure.
