Kuwait says air defenses responding to 'hostile missile and drone threats'
Public urged to follow safety instructions as explosions may be heard
Istanbul
Kuwait's air defenses are actively intercepting "hostile" missiles and drones, the Army General Staff said Saturday.
It said any explosions may be heard across the country as a result of interceptions, urging the public to follow safety instructions from relevant authorities.
The country later issued a similar statement that said forces were encountering a second wave of attacks.
The US-Israeli strikes on Iran began Feb. 28, with Tehran retaliating with drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries hosting US military assets throughout the ongoing campaign.
According to data from the Kuwaiti Army, National Guard, Center For Government Communication and the KUNA official news agency, Kuwait has been targeted by at least 261 missile and 585 drone attacks since the war began.
