Israeli army claims killing Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon strike
Statement says Muhammad Abdullah was responsible for its communications systems across Lebanon

ANKARA
The Israeli army on Friday claimed to have killed a senior Hezbollah military commander in strike on the city of Sidon, southern Lebanon.
A military statement identified the targeted commander as Muhammad Abdullah, claiming he was responsible for its communications systems across Lebanon, especially in the southern Litani region.
Hezbollah did not immediately comment on the claim.
Earlier, the Lebanese Health Ministry said a person was killed and others injured by an Israeli drone that targeted a vehicle on the Ghazieh Highway in the Zahrani area near Sidon.
Israel has continued to strike Lebanon despite a November ceasefire, which largely halted more than a year of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, including two months of all-out war.
