Israel signs agreement for sale of David’s Sling air defense system to Finland

GENEVA

Israel has signed an agreement for selling its David’s Sling air defense system to Finland, the Israeli Defense Ministry announced Sunday.

The ministry’s Director-General, Eyal Zamir, “signed an agreement for the sale of the 'David's Sling' to Finland valued at approx. 317 million EUR ($339.6 million)," the ministry said on X.

The David's Sling system, jointly developed by Israel and the US in 2017, can intercept enemy aircraft, drones, ballistic missiles and medium- to long-range rockets.

The sale of the co-developed system to Finland required the approval of the US, which gave the green light in early August.
