Missile debris fell in three locations in central Israel early Friday after Iran launched a new wave of missiles, according to Israeli media.

Public broadcaster KAN reported that missile debris struck three locations in central Israel. Iran launched "a cluster missile" toward areas in the region, Channel 12 claimed.

Earlier, the Israeli army announced in a statement that sirens sounded across large areas of northern and central Israel following the detection of a new wave of Iranian missiles. A subsequent army statement reported that sirens also sounded in the settlement of Kiryat Shmona and surrounding areas in northern Israel after missiles were detected being launched from Lebanon.

Israel's Health Ministry said Thursday that at least 5,229 people have been injured in Iranian attacks since late last month, including 149 in the past 24 hours.

The entire region has been on alert since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
