Bahrain’s aluminum producer confirms Iranian attack on facilities, 2 workers injured
Company says it is assessing damage while maintaining operations after Saturday strike
ISTANBUL
Bahrain’s aluminum producer Alba confirmed Sunday that its facilities were hit in an Iranian attack the previous day, leaving two employees with minor injuries.
The company said it is assessing the extent of the damage caused by a “malicious Iranian attack,” while continuing efforts to maintain operations and ensure the safety of its workforce.
Alba, which operates the world’s largest aluminum smelter at a single site, did not provide details about the damage.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said earlier Saturday that it targeted Alba’s facilities in Bahrain, and Emirates Global Aluminium facilities in the United Arab Emirates, claiming they were linked to US industries.
