Seven Israeli soldiers were injured Sunday in separate incidents in southern Lebanon and northern Israel, Israeli media reported.

Four were slightly wounded due to a safety incident while operating in southern Lebanon and another suffered a minor injury when a drone exploded near forces in the same region, Israel's Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported.

Two others were slightly injured in an accident in northern Israel, the outlet said, adding that all seven soldiers were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Hostilities in the region have escalated since US and Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, with Iran retaliating with repeated drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
