Israel continues deadly military operations in Tulkarem, Jenin in northern West Bank

RAMALLAH, Palestine
Two Palestinians, including a journalist, were injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, according to medics and local media.
The official news agency Wafa said journalist Nagham Al-Zayt sustained shrapnel wounds to her right hand while covering an Israeli military incursion in eastern Tulkarem city.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that a 20-year-old man was also injured in his face by Israeli fire in Tulkarem and was transferred to a hospital for medical attention.
The Israeli army continued a military operation in the Tulkarem refugee camp in the northern West Bank for second day in a row on Tuesday, killing at least two people, injuring dozens and displacing hundreds of families.
The assault marks an expansion of an ongoing military operation in the Jenin refugee camp, where at least 16 people have been killed and 50 others injured since Jan. 21.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank due to Israel’s war on Gaza, where over 47,300 people have been killed and 111,500 others injured since Oct. 7, 2023. A ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement took effect in Gaza on Jan. 19, suspending Israel’s genocidal war on the enclave.
Over the same period, at least 880 Palestinians have been killed and more than 6,700 injured by Israeli forces in West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
In July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s long-standing occupation of Palestinian territories illegal, calling for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
