Turkish stock exchange ends midweek with losses
Benchmark BIST 100 index loses 57.84 points at Wednesday's closing session

ISTANBUL
The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 10,756.27 points, down 0.53% from the previous close.
After starting the day at 10,787.48 points, the BIST 100 index lost 57.84 points from the close on Tuesday.
The lowest point for the index was 10,729.88, while the daily high was 10,907.31.
During the day, 66 indexes lost in value while 33 closed with gains.
The daily transaction volume reached 136.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.26 billion), while the overall value of the index was 9.98 trillion liras ($239.9 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 41.7145 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 48.4870, and the British pound traded at 55.9730.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,041.85, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $66.25.
