Turkish stock exchange opens Thursday up

ISTANBUL

Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 10,856.73 points, rising 0.93%, or 100.46 points, from the previous close.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 fell 0.53% to close at 10,756.27 points, with a daily transaction volume of 136.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.26 billion).

As of 09.55 am local time (0655GMT), exchange rates stood at 41.7205 liras to the US dollar, 48.5940 to the euro, and 55.9140 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,026.30, while Brent crude oil was trading at $66.05 per barrel.
