No rise in off-site radiation was reported after a US-Israeli attack targeted a yellowcake production facility in Ardakan of Iran's Yazd province, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Friday.

"The IAEA has been informed by Iran that the Shahid Rezayee Nejad Yellow Cake Production Facility in Yazd province (also known as Ardakan) was attacked today.

"No increase in off-site radiation levels reported. The IAEA is looking into the report," the IAEA said through US social media company X.

The IAEA Director General Director Rafael Grossi has renewed an appeal for restraint in military actions to prevent a potential nuclear incident, the agency said.

The attacks on Ardakan were reported by Iranian media earlier in the day, with initial assessments indicating that no radioactive materials were released beyond the site.

Hostilities in the region have escalated since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, inflicting casualties and infrastructure damage while disrupting global markets and aviation.
