Eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli army fire during military raids in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, medics said.

Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters and live rounds as they raided the town of Husan, west of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, eyewitnesses told Anadolu.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its medical teams provided on-site treatment to five Palestinians who suffered tear gas inhalation in Husan.

The organization said its crews also transported three former detainees to a hospital after they were released at the al-Jib military checkpoint in East Jerusalem, after they were beaten by Israeli soldiers.

In the northern West Bank, clashes broke out in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, after Israeli forces stormed the area and detained several worshippers from inside a mosque, according to the official Voice of Palestine Radio.

Separately, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces raided the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, searched a home, and detained several residents.

The agency added that several military vehicles also entered the city of al-Bireh, with soldiers holding several worshippers as they left a mosque.

At least 1,092 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 11,000 others injured in attacks by the army and illegal Israeli settlers in the West Bank since October 2023. Over 21,000 people have also been arrested.

In a landmark opinion in July last year, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
