EU decides to lift economic sanctions on Syria
The EU has lifted all economic sanctions on Syria this month, ending 14 years of restrictions imposed since the 2011 civil war outbreak. This move follows the EU’s earlier decision in February to suspend parts of its sanctions on Damascus.21 May 2025•Update: 21 May 2025
