Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.6% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 799,576 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 39,086 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,484 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 806,900 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 16.6% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.3% of total electricity consumption on Monday, imported coal plants held a 20.7% share while hydropower plants comprised 19.9%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,490 megawatt-hours while imports reached 4,166 megawatt-hours.
