Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.41% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 896,307 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 43,348 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,822 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 899,491 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.58% increase from Tuesday.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 31.5% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectric power plants held a 18.7% share while imported coal plants comprised 17.55%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,783 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,760 megawatt-hours.
