The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 11,290.36 points, down 0.18% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 11,307.24, lost 20.7 points from the close on Monday.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 11,276.20, while the daily high was 11,367.30.

A total of 64 indexes lost in value, while 34 closed the day with gains.

The total transaction volume reached 120.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.82 billion), while the overall value of the index was 10.64 trillion liras ($249 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 42.8295 as of 6.25 pm local time (1525GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 50.6390, and the GBP/TRY traded at 58.0205.

The price of gold was $4,447.65 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $61.40.
