Istanbul (AA)
Borsa Istanbul Director of International Relations Department Mahmut Aydogmus said on Saturday that capital markets have a quite positive course following Moody's upgrading Turkey's rating to "investible level."
Speaking at the "Borsa Istanbul Panel" of the 2nd Business Development Meeting of the Association of Anatolian Businessmen (ASKON), with Anadolu Agency as the media sponsor, Aydogmus stated that Borsa Istanbul experiences a development and improvement due to the public offering of companies.
Aydogmus noted, referring to their projects to make Istanbul an international stock exchange center, they hold talks with new countries and have recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Development Bank.
Borsa Istanbul Director of Quotation Department Korkmaz Ergun also gave a speech at the panel, saying "Companies grow larger only by a scale-up and institutionalization."
Stressing the considerable demand at the public offerings, Ergun pointed out they made efforts to introduce and tell public offering to people by summits and seminars.
Borsa Istanbul Director of Emerging Companies Market Department Korhan Eryilmaz described the main reason why small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) do not go public as the prejudices and hesitation resulting from lack of knowledge.
"It's the human nature. Nobody wants to enter a dark room. Market advisor is like a lamp that lights the room," he said, praising the current situation in the emerging companies market.
Borsa Istanbul Deputy Director of Derivatives Market Department Kamil Guzel also spoke at the panel.
