BALIKESIR
Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM) Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi said that Turkish exporters should see oil producing countries as target markets.
Buyukeksi told AA on Friday that Turkish exporters should attach more importance in oil producing countries such as Russia, Ghana, Mozambique, Angola, Iraq, Iran, Qatar and Kuwait.
Rising oil prices brought dynamism in the economies of these countries. Thus, the target market should be oil producing countries, said Buyukeksi.
He reminded that Turkey's export in April dropped 2.9 percent to 11.4 billion USD when compared to April 2011.
12-month export rose 13.62 percent to 138.3 billion USD, he added.
Noting that the economic crisis in Europe was deepening which affected export figures negatively, Buyukeksi said that exports in automotive and textile sectors dropped, adding that these sectors were making 85 percent of their export to EU countries.
He noted that Turkey's export to Europe decreased 18 percent.
In such situation, new markets are important for us, said Buyukeksi, adding that Turkish exporters should attach more importance in oil producing countries.
