Russian foreign minister arrives in Kyrgyzstan for CSTO ministerial talks
Sergey Lavrov to meet his Kyrgyz counterpart, President Japarov in resort town of Cholpon-Ata

ISTANBUL
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Saturday arrived in the Kyrgyz resort town of Cholpon-Ata for an official visit that includes high-level talks and participation in a regional security summit, according to Russian news agency Tass.
During his visit, Lavrov is expected to meet his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubayev and President Sadyr Japarov.
He will also attend the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Moscow-led regional bloc.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in political, economic, military, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
“There will also be an exchange of views on key regional and international developments and prospects for advancing Eurasian integration,” ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
