Russia on Wednesday strongly condemned "terrorist attacks" in Pakistan and India, calling for greater international cooperation in combating extremism.

Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Moscow “condemns in the strongest terms” the suicide bombing on Tuesday that targeted a police car outside a courthouse in Islamabad on Nov. 11, killing at least 12 people and injuring dozens.

“Russia invariably advocates for an uncompromising fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We call for enhanced international cooperation to jointly counter this barbarism,” she said, expressing condolences to the victims’ families and sympathy to the injured.

Zakharova also commented on the car explosion near New Delhi’s Red Fort area on Monday, which killed more than 10 people and injured many. “We were deeply alarmed to learn of the car bombing,” she said, adding that Russia “strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and is committed to the eradication of this global scourge.”

She emphasized that “the solidarity of the entire international community is crucial” to combat terrorism effectively.

The two deadly blasts in South Asia prompted widespread condemnation, with local authorities in both Islamabad and New Delhi launching investigations into the attacks.
