Interpol holds 1st 'Future of Policing' summit in South Korea
Some 90 representatives of law enforcement agencies, security experts from Interpol and 37 countries attending 3-day conference
ANKARA
A three-day Interpol's "Future of Policing" congress kicked off on Wednesday in the South Korean Incheon city, west of Seoul.
The conference is co-hosted and organized by the Korean National Police Agency and Interpol's secretariat in Songdo Convensia in Incheon, Seoul-based Yonhap News agency reported.
The international conference is attended by some 90 representatives of law enforcement agencies and security experts from Interpol and 37 countries worldwide, including Canada, Japan, Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
The participants will discuss ways to predict the constantly changing global security environment and prepare for new threats.
The first-of-its-kind conference, whose main theme is change in the future security environment and law enforcement agencies' response, will continue through Friday.
Interpol was founded in Vienna in 1923. It currently has 195 members.
Last year marked its centennial anniversary since the founding of the International Criminal Police Commission, which later became Interpol in 1956.
