Law launches process of Armenia's accession to EU, says press service of Armenian president

MOSCOW
Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed the law on the beginning of the process of the country’s accession to the EU.
"On April 4, President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a law on the beginning of the process of Armenia's accession to the EU," the presidential press service said in a statement.
There was no invitation from the EU for Armenia to join the bloc. The Russian authorities repeatedly stated that the signing of the document means Armenia's withdrawal from the Eurasian Economic Union.
