ISTANBUL

Three people were killed when the roof of a house collapsed from heavy rains and floods in southern Afghanistan, the Tolo News broadcaster said Wednesday.

Officials from the Helmand Department of Information and Culture said six people were also injured when the roof collapsed in the Sangin district.

A newly built water dam in the Washir district of Helmand province was also destroyed.

In addition, several houses were damaged in Kandahar city due to heavy rains and flooding.
