"Memorandum of Understanding on Environment" was signed between Turkey and Egypt, where Turkey donated 150 garbage carters were handed over to Egypt at an official ceremony.
Turkish Minister of Environment & Urbanization Erdogan Bayraktar and Turkish Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz attended the meeting with their counterparts, where 150 garbage carters worth $25 million were delivered to Egypt as grant.
Besides, some of the subjects of the memorandum are on urban transformation, mutual share of knowledge on environment, reducing air pollution, increasing dwelling production, striving with pollution, waste water and recycling garbage, Bayraktar said.
Egyptian historical depth was known by whole world and Turkey, said Bayraktar and added that "one of the most important sources of Egypt's income is tourism". He stated that they would do their best for cleanup of Cairo and Alexandria and noted that Turkey would share its experience in stability, trust and development, it gained in last 10.5 years.
Yilmaz stated Egyptian revolution was appreciated by Turkey, expressing faith that Egypt would make further revolution in both economy and development. Turkey would help Egypt in all areas it seeks, Yilmaz emphasized.
Egyptian Minister of State for Environmental Affairs Khaled Fahmy thanked Turkey for the donation and stated their essential need was "solid waste" actually.
Egyptian Minister of State for Local Development Mohamed Ali Bishr,Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Huseyin Avni Botsali and Governor of Cairo Osama Kamal joined also the ceremony.
100 of the donated garbage carters are to be used in Cairo, 30 in Giza and 20 in Alexandria.
