Turkish president heads to Azerbaijan for Turkic states summit
Erdogan to join leaders in city of Gabala for summit, themed Regional Peace and Security
ISTANBUL
Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan departed for Azerbaijan on Tuesday to attend the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States in the northern Azerbaijani city of Gabala.
Erdogan left Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport at 9.15 am (0615GMT) aboard the presidential aircraft.
The summit, hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, will bring together leaders of Turkic nations under the theme of Regional Peace and Security.
