A policeman tasked with protecting a jury member in the trial of ousted president Mohamed Morsi was gunned down on Friday.
Abdullah al-Metwali, 35, was gunned down by unidentified assailant as he was going home in the Nile Delta city of Mansoura, a security source told Anadolu Agency.
The policeman was tasked with providing protection to Hussein Qandil, a jury member in the trial of the ousted president Morsi on charges of inciting the murder of anti-government protesters outside the Ittihadiya presidential palace n 2012.
