Trump believes there is a chance to reach agreement with Iran, Israeli premier says
‘We will protect our vital interests in any situation,’ Netanyahu says
JERUSALEM
US President Donald Trump believes there is a chance to reach an agreement with Iran to “protect our vital interests,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday evening.
“He believes there is a chance to leverage the significant achievements of the IDF (army) and the US military to realize the war objectives in an agreement, an agreement that will protect our vital interests,” Netanyahu said in a statement.
“At the same time, we continue to strike both in Iran and in Lebanon. We are crushing the missile and nuclear program to dust and continue to hit Hezbollah hard.”
The Israeli premier said that Israel and the US killed two more nuclear scientists in Iran in the past few days.
“We will protect our vital interests in any situation."
Trump, on Monday, said he has ordered a 5-day postponement of all strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, citing “very good and productive” talks with Tehran over the past two days.
“I am pleased to report that the United States of America and the country of Iran have had, over the last two days, very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social.
