At least 23 health care workers have been killed and 112 others wounded in Iran since the start of US-Israeli strikes, according to figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Wednesday.

According to the government’s Media Information Center, the ministry said that 226 medical and health units have been damaged, including 12 hospitals that have been completely put out of service.

Seven medical centers were evacuated due to their proximity to affected areas, it added.

In the emergency sector, 49 bases and 38 ambulances have been damaged, the report said.

Over the same period, medical teams carried out 902 surgeries, while 924 patients remain hospitalized in medical centers.

Regional escalation has continued to flare since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, killing so far over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
