Ukraine’s senior negotiator Rustem Umerov will meet again with top American officials in the US state of Florida, according to Ukrainian media reports on Friday.

Citing sources in Ukraine’s delegation, public broadcaster Suspilne reported that Umerov and Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov will hold a meeting on Friday evening with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in Miami.

The meeting will follow earlier talks held between the Ukrainian and the American side.

On Thursday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his country’s delegation flew to the US for talks on Washington’s proposed peace plan to end the over three-and-a-half-year Ukraine war.

The meetings in Florida came just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin met Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow on Tuesday for discussions on the revised peace plan.

After the meeting, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said talks in the Russian capital were “constructive, very useful, and informative,” adding that the five-hour discussions “thoroughly” covered a possible settlement for the over three-and-a-half-year war.

For his part, Trump said Wednesday that the US delegation had a “reasonably good meeting” with Putin, adding their impression from the talks was that the Russian president would "like to make a deal" to end the ongoing conflict.

Separately, Ushakov said in an interview with Russian state broadcaster Channel One on Friday that Moscow hopes Washington will share the results of the talks between the US and Ukrainian delegations in Florida.

“We're waiting for an analysis of their (the US’) negotiations with Umerov. I hope they'll share the results with us. We'll see,” he said.
