KABUL (AA) - March 26, 2013 - Taliban on Tuesday attacked a police center in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan with an 8-member suicide team in the early morning hours.
Five police officers were killed, four police officers were seriously wounded and five Taliban members died in the incident.
Chief of Jalalabad Police, Emin Sharif said that two of the assailants blew themselves up in front of a building where teams of Jalalabad Emergency Force stayed and made the entry of other assailants possible. Other Taliban members opened fire on the police center.
Five suicide bombers were killed in the incident by Jalalabad police officers and four civilians were wounded in the clash.
Police sources said that the remaining assailants were killed before they could blow themselves up.
Taliban claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack and said similar incidents would take place in the near future.
