Russia said on Tuesday that a Ukrainian drone attack in the country’s Krasnodar region struck a ferry, resulting in an unspecified number of casualties.

“This morning, a ferry ship was attacked by drones in Kavkaz Port. Emergency services are currently on the scene,” Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said in a statement on Telegram.

Expressing that a fire broke out due to the strike, Kondratyev said the fire was local with no threat of spreading to surrounding areas.

“Unfortunately, there were injured and dead among the crew members and port employees. I express my sincere condolences to family and friends. The victims are provided with all necessary assistance,” he added.

Ukrainian officials have not yet commented on the claims.
