ISLAMABAD, Pakistan
A Pakistani court on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants for former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and former commerce minister Makhdoom Ameen Fahim in a corruption case.
The judge of an anti-corruption court in southern port city of Karachi issued the warrants against the two for their alleged involvement in financial embezzlement in the state-owned Trade Development Authority that handles the foreign trade.
The court later adjourned the hearing of the case till January 17.
The warrants for the two were issued after they failed to appear before the court despite three repeated notices.
Gilani, who served as the prime minister from 2008 to 2012, has been facing inquiry relating to various cases of corruption and misuse of authority.
