BERLIN (AA) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed chemical attack in Syria with Russian President Vladimir Putin on phone.
According to a statement from German government spokesman, Merkel told Putin international community had to respond to chemical attack against civilians in Syria.
The statement also said two leaders were in agreement with regard to the need about UN's handling the issue.
Merkel also urged Putin to use UN meetings to bring an international reaction to the attack, the statement said.
Also the statement said the two leaders were on the same line about a political decision and continuing effort to organize international Syria conference.
