ISTANBUL
Mohammed Omar al-Mukhtar, son of the leader of Libya's resistance against Italians Omar Mukhtar, arrived in Turkey on Thursday as the guest of IHH humanitarian relief foundation.
Al-Mukhtar told AA that he visited Turkey to thank for the support it extended to Libya in its difficult times.
Noting that he had been supporting the people's revolution in Libya from the beginning, Al-Mukhtar said that future of Libya was bright.
Al-Mukhtar said that the relations between Turkey and Libya were good, adding that Turkey supported Libyan people during the revolution, and Libyan people would never forget Turkey's help.
Omar Mukhtar, born in Libya in 1862, organized and, for nearly twenty years, led native resistance to Italian colonization of Libya. The Italians captured and hanged him in 1931.
