ISLAMABAD
The judge heading the trial of Pakistan's former President General Pervez Musharraf for high treason has reversed his decision to disassociate himself from the trial on Thursday.
Justice Faisal Arab, disassociated himself from the bench earlier Thursday after defense lawyers continuously challenged his neutrality but he said he was only leaving the court for the day because of their "misbehavior".
Arab, who has been heading the special court since the case began on December 24, had said he had always proved his neutrality but if the defense was still unsatisfied, he would not hear the case.
The defense lawyer claimed the court's ordering of non-bailable arrest warrants for Musharraf, for not appearing in court, showed bias because he had missed the court appearances because of claimed health and security issues.
The court is trying Musharraf for high treason charges because of the unconstitutional imposition of a state of emergency in 2007.
