JEDDAH (AA) - August 14, 2012 - Foreign ministers who convened in Jeddah ahead of an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) discussed Syria and problems of Muslims in Myanmar.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu informed participants on his talks in Myanmar and Turkey's assistance to the region in the meeting.
Final declaration and four draft resolutions prepared by OIC officials will be presented to leaders in the extraordinary meeting of OIC that will be held in Mecca on Tuesday evening. The main topics in the final declaration are Syria, Myanmar, Mali, Palestine and Jerusalem.
The draft resolution about Syria confirmed that Syria's unity, sovereignty, independency and territorial integrity must be preserved, condemning bloodshed there. It highlighted that Syrian government was responsible for violence and bloodshed, urging end of violence and killings in the country.
The draft resolution about Myanmar called on the government of Myanmar to pursue a policy of reconciliation and rehabilitation covering all ethnical and religious components.
