Egyptian President Mohammed Moursi's legal adviser Mohammed Fouad Cadullah has said that Moursi's decision on retirement of his powerful defense minister and other military staff was to correct the mistakes made during the transition period in the country.
Speaking to AA correspondent on Tuesday, Cadullah said that President Moursi was serving in line with the interests of the country.
"There were no problems with the military which had focused on protection of the country. Defense Minister Hussein Tantawi and armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Sami Anan were aware of the conclusion of their political role with the rising of the second republic. Until the moment, there are no objection to the decision from any military authorities, particularly from Tantawi and Anan. Those retired military staff welcomed the decision," said Cadullah.
Cadullah also said that it was an ordinary right of the president to make regularization in the constitution.
