JERUSALEM
Israeli spokesman has said that military operation on Iran was among options of Israel, speaking to AA correspondent in Jerusalem.
When reminded of a statement by Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak who said his country had never promised the United States it would hold off from attacking Iran, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said that military operation on Iran was among options of Israel, but there was no decision on the matter right now, and there was not any plan on attacking Iran. "However everything is among our options. That's what Barak said," he said.
Regarding nuclear talks between P5+1 countries and Iran held in Istanbul, Palmor said Israel was not very hopeful about negotiations, but they were following developments.
On Turkey-Iran relations, Palmor said that Iran was a threat, stating that they were in favor of a harsh attitude by Turkey against Iran.
In regard to the letter from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas demanding Israel to freeze Jewish settlement construction in the West Bank for resumption of peace talks, Palmor said an official reply would be made to Abbas. Israel would not accept any precondition for peace talks, he said.
Replying to a question on hunger strike by 1,200 Palestinians in jails in Israel, Palmor said that it was really difficult to understand it, stating that all prisoners had the right to see their relatives.
