DERKUSH
An Anadolu Agency team of reporters and cameramen have entered Derkush, which turned into a ghost town after the clashes began in Syria.
Derkush town of Idlib city, once home to 15,000 people, is now under the control of dissidents.
Opponents are trying to secure the city against the attacks of Assad's soldiers.
Opponents told AA that they held captive many Assad soldiers and seized a tank and a military vehicle recently, adding that they had to be awake and on guard for 24 hours a day for their country.
There is a check point in each 100 meters in Derkush where many shops are closed and some houses are damaged.
Huseyin Bitaro, a resident of Derkush, told AA that Derkush was now a ghost town, adding that the population dropped from 15,000 to 3,000 after the incidents in the country.
Bitaro said that many people left their homes and country as they were afraid of the bombardment and attacks.
We only demanded freedom and democracy, said Bitaro, adding that it was too bad that the town turned into a ghost town.
A doctor, who left Aleppo after the incidents began and volunteered to work in Derkush, said that besides the soldiers of Free Syrian Army, he was also treating Assad's soldiers.
