BISHKEK (AA) - September 10, 2012 - The Second International Muslim Union Conference held by the Mufti's Office of Kyrgyzstan has ended in Bishkek on Sunday.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA) while attending the conference, the Mufti of Muslim Communities in the Russian Federation, Ravil Gaynuddinov said that the unrest in Muslim countries stemmed from the lack of unity, solidarity and mutual understanding.
"Muslim states are those who possess most of the resources of the world both under the ground and above. All of the resources make the Islamic world forceful politically and economically. Such a reality is a cause of fear for others," Gaynuddinov argued.
"There is no clash among sects in any Muslim countries. For example, there is no clash among sects in Afghanistan. Certain individuals wish to create clashes between the Shiites and Sunnis in Iraq. They want a similar scenario in Syria. Both Syria and Iraq are the cradle of the same religion. For centuries, Muslims and Christians lived together in peace in these countries. There has never been clashes among them. It would not be appropriate to talk about tension when the issue of sect is discussed," Gaynuddinov stressed.
"The Muslims have respect for other religions and cultures. Certain groups want to see instability in the Islamic world. The policy here is clear: divide and rule. They try to divide and then rule societies," Gaynuddinov noted.
Evaluating the Bishkek conference, Gaynuddinov said that all those participating at the conference understood the necessity for the Muslims of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to unite.
The Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, Rahmatulla Egemberdiyev, said that they had gathered for unity and the timing and place of the conference was proper.
The Chairman of the Federation of Muslims in Mongolia, Batirbek Khadis, said that he was sad to see that the Muslims were held accountable for all negative incidents in the world.
"The Muslims are not responsible for negative incidents. They have to talk about the reality. They should have their voice heard in events like the Bishkek conference," Khadis underlined.
The Bishkek conference pointed out that religious figures should extend support to the development of states.
The conference underlined the importance of cooperation between religious figures and state intelligence organizations so that the Islamic religion does not get harmed, Muslims do not join sects which are against the Islamic religion and radicalization is prevented.
The religious leaders attending the Bishkek conference later came together for a family photograph and made prayers in front of a monument near the Presidential Palace for those who lost two years ago in Kyrgyzstan during the revolution of the people.
