Türkiye to highlight water conservation efforts with exhibition in New York
Event to showcase Türkiye’s water protection projects under first lady Emine Erdogan’s patronage

ISTANBUL
Türkiye will showcase its water conservation efforts in New York on Monday with an exhibition organized under the zero waste movement, launched under the patronage of first lady Emine Erdogan.
The Zero Waste Blue-Drop by Drop exhibition, organized by the Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Ministry, will feature visual and audio works under the slogan “Are You Blue Aware?”
Erdogan and Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum will inaugurate the event, which will present Türkiye’s water protection projects to the international community.
Türkiye, naturally water-stressed due to its location in the Mediterranean basin, has modernized its policies in response to climate change. Over the past two decades, it has implemented more than 10,000 projects and invested around $80 billion to safeguard water resources.
The exhibition will highlight some of the country’s leading initiatives, including wastewater treatment and sludge removal at Lake Van, strict conservation measures at Lake Salda, the restoration of the dried Meke Lake, national park protections at Beysehir Lake, and large-scale marine cleanup at Izmit Bay.
