Turkish aerospace firm ASFAT and Italian company Magnaghi Aerospace signed a joint venture agreement on Friday during TEKNOFEST, Türkiye’s premier technology and aviation event.
Magnaghi Aerospace is a leading name in the design, production, and maintenance of aircraft landing gear systems. The company also specializes in related subsystems such as hydraulic and electromechanical devices for aerial platforms.
Under the agreement, a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Center will be established in Türkiye. The facility will focus on servicing landing gear used by aircraft in the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory. The first aircraft to be serviced in this center will be Türkiye’s ATAK helicopters.
Led by ASFAT, the project aims to support both military and civilian air platforms, while becoming a key center for Türkiye’s aviation maintenance sector.
The joint venture deal was signed between ASFAT CEO Mustafa Ilbas and Magnaghi Aerospace founder and CEO Paolo Graziano.
TEKNOFEST, a five-day event, kicked off in Istanbul on Wednesday. It is organized by the Turkish Technology Team (T3) Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with Anadolu Agency serving as the global communications partner.
