The Turkish embassies in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on Saturday issued safety advisories to Turkish citizens after Israel and the US launched airstrikes on Iran.

In an announcement made by the Turkish Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Turkish citizens residing in the UAE were asked to closely follow developments and the information provided by the embassy and the UAE authorities.

The Turkish Embassy in Doha also said in its announcement to Turkish citizens in Qatar that developments in the region were being closely monitored by the relevant authorities, urging the citizens to follow announcements of the embassy and the Qatari authorities.

Separately, the Turkish Embassy in Manama urged Turkish citizens residing in Bahrain to follow the announcements made by the embassy as well as the information provided by the Bahraini authorities, calling for full compliance with security measures by the Bahraini government.

In another announcement, the Turkish Embassy in Riyadh also advised its citizens in Saudi Arabia to closely follow developments, remain vigilant, and comply with measures that may be announced by the Saudi authorities.

The embassy also advised its citizens to monitor any changes in their travel plans and take necessary precautions on an individual basis, noting that delays and cancellations in air travel may occur depending on possible developments.

Israel and the US launched an attack against Iran early Saturday, citing alleged threats posed by the "Iranian regime." Video statements were released by both US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The attacks came as talks between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear program had been ongoing under Oman’s mediation. A new round of talks in Geneva ended on Thursday.

Israel also initiated a 12-day war on Iran last June, with the US joining later and bombing three Iranian nuclear sites.
