Kuwaiti rescue teams continue searching for survivors under the wreckage of buildings from the earthquakes that hit Türkiye and Syria on Feb. 6.
Following the earthquakes, Kuwait was among the first countries that rushed to send search and rescue teams to help the Turkish teams in their efforts to find and pull out survivors.
On the second day of the disaster, the Kuwaiti rescue teams arrived in Türkiye and managed to pull from the rubble three people.
Speaking to Anadolu, the head of the Kuwaiti relief mission, Ayman Al-Mufareh, said the Kuwaiti rescue workers are still carrying out their task beside the Turkish search and rescue teams.
He expressed his pride for his country's solidarity with "brotherly Türkiye" and offering of aid materials to affected people.
Last year, Kuwaiti firefighter teams also took part in the efforts to fend off the raging wildfires that hit Türkiye in the summer time.
At least 36,100 people were killed and 105,505 others injured in two powerful earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye on Feb. 6, according to the latest official figures.
The magnitude 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes, centered in the Kahramanmaras province, were felt by 13 million people across 10 provinces in Türkiye, and also affected several countries in the region.
In neighboring Syria, the death toll topped 3,600 with more than 5,200 people injured.
