WASHINGTON
Turkish industrial designer Dogan Sekercioglu who lives in the USA won one of the world's most prestigious design awards the 'iF Concept Design Award' with his Diver Distress Signal System.
Sekercioglu competed with 10 thousand other industrial designers with his project in the 'student' category in Germany. He told AA that he developed his award winning project with two of his friends from Israel and China at the Umea Institute of Design in Switzerland.
He said, "During an emergency under the water, if a diver is facing problems, other divers or the team will be notified with sound, light and graphic interfaces. We tested all under the water."
Dogan Sekercioglu graduated from Fine Arts Faculty of Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul and completed his first internship in Denmark in Jacob Jensen Design during completing his degree. He completed his postgraduate subject the 'Advanced Product Design' in Umea Institute of Design in Switzerland. His works can be followed on his web site 'www.dodocanfly.com'
