ANKARA
Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag on Thursday met with his Kosovar counterpart Edita Tahiri in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Bozdag said Turkey and Kosovo shared a joint history and culture Kosovars and Turks living in each other's countries constituted a bridge to boost relations between the two nations.
Bozdag said he reiterated Turkey's support for greater participation for Kosovo in international organizations and securing recognition from more countries.
Tahiri, on her part, expressed gratitude for Turkey's support for Kosovo, saying that relations between the two countries were destined to become even stronger in the future.
Tahiri said Kosovo was an important country for the stability of the region, adding that her counrty aimed at becoming a full member to NATO, the European Union and the United Nations.
Turkish fm meets Kosovo's deputy pm
Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri over breakfast in Ankara on Thursday.
Tahiri briefed Davutoglu on Pristina-Belgrade dialogue process, while Tahiri and Davutoglu discussed positive progress in Kosovo and the general situation in the Balkans.
Davutoglu expressed Turkey's expectations from Turkish community in Kosovo, and the two ministers also exchanged views on Kosovo's future cooperation with Euro-Atlantic organizations.
This is Tahiri's first visit to Turkey.
